MRS. MYRTLE D. GARRETT
EDINA, Mo. --- Services for Mrs. Myrtle D. Garrett, 83, of Edina, who died Saturday (Nov. 20, 1971) at 5:25 a.m. in the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina where she had been a patient since September, will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina. The Rev. Barbara Barnett will officiate. Burial will be in Linville Cemetery.
Mrs. Garrett was born Nov. 26, 1887, in Greencastle, Mo., a daughter of Lon and Josephine Capp Strait. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Edina and had lived in Kirksville a number of years before moving to Edina six years ago. She married William Oliver Garrett Feb. 6, 1906, in Kirksville. He died Dec. 28, 1944.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. H. M. (Rita G.) Watkins of Miami, Fla. and Mrs. J. A. (Minnie V.) Rose of Edina; a son, C. M. (Bill) Garrett of Kansas City, Mo.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Joe and Wayne of Auroa, Colo.
She was preceded in death by a daughter in death by a daughter, two sisters and two brothers.
