Alexander "Ike" James Booth Jr., the husband of Helen (Salamon) Booth, died at home after a period of failing health on Nov. 16, 2009. He was 87 and had been married to Helen for 63 years. He was born and raised mostly in Taunton, graduated from Dighton High School, and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Dighton. He was the son of the late Alexander and Beatrice (Dunkerley) Booth. He had served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. Alexander worked as a branch manager of maintenance at Texas Instruments in Attleboro for 34 years. Ike enjoyed the outdoor's, fishing hunting and also gardening. He also enjoyed reading and using his computer to keep up with current events. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Kathy A. (Booth) Britton and her husband Donald of Rumford RI; a son, Kenneth A. Booth and his wife Lisa (Boissonneault) Booth of Nashua, NH; two brothers, Robert Booth of Dighton and Roland Booth of Lakewood, CO. one sister, Dorothy (Booth) Pilling of Assonet; four grandchildren, Darrell Britton, Neil Britton, Andrew Booth and Heather Booth; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by one brother, Mahlon Booth of Dighton, MA. Calling hours will be at the O'Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St. in Taunton on Thursday, Nov. 19th from 4-7pm. A funeral home service will be on Friday Nov. 20th at 11am. Burial in Mayflower Hill Cemetery in Taunton.
