MARVIN RAY CRITTON, Mammoth Mountain Ski Patrol
On the very top of Lincoln Mountain, one of the lower peaks in the Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort area, is a plaque dedicated to Marvin Ray Critton. It was on the slope of this mountain that the explosives accident took place that claimed his life. Explosives are used to touch off small snow slides before they pose serious avalanche hazards on the ski runs. Ray Critton is listed on the American Avalanche Association Memorial List.
