ELLSWORTH "BUD" R. JACOBS, 87, passed away Monday, June 13, 2011, in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, he worked as a Supervisor with Dana Corporation for 35 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Dana Quarter Century Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed NASCAR and building race cars. Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Virginia Jacobs of Fort Wayne; daughters, Judy (Leo) Herendeen of Fort Wayne, Janet S. (Gregg, deceased) Yager of Fort Wayne and Joan Scott of Milford, Ind.; brother, William (Pat) Jacobs of Fort Wayne; sister, Luella Bryant of Fort Wayne; sister-in-law, Betty Jacobs of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Cory (Molly) Herendeen of Carmel, Ind., Jason Herendeen of Fort Wayne, Joel (Sarah) Herendeen of Indianapolis, Brian (Lizabeth) Yager of Fort Wayne, Brent Yager of Fort Wayne, Ryan Scott of Pierceton, Krisa (Mike) Pressler of Columbia City; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Alma Jacobs; brothers, Harry, Greorge and Walter (Emily) Jacobs; sister, Helen Baugher. Service is 2 p.m. Thursday at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Entombment in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
