George Franklin Shaw, age 71, passed away August 8, 1991 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born June 10, 1920 in Elsinore, Utah to Frank Sammon and Rebecca Ellen Wood Shaw. Married Anna Laura Phelps February 1, 1942 in Yuma, Arizona. He served four years in the military; two in the European Theatre where he received a Special Commendation for his bravery from General Bradley. He liked to hunt and fish. He loved his family and he was a hard worker.

Survived by his wife, Anna; six children, Howard and Bea Shaw, Silverdale, Wash.; GeorgAnne and Bernell Christensen, Magna; David and Frances Shaw, Gabbs, Nev.; Dick and Patsy Bradshaw, West Valley City; Mike and Linda Shaw, Monroe; Frankie and Dennis Fitzmorris, South Jordan; 24 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Margret Jordan; brother, Dennis Shaw, both Salt Lake City.

Military Graveside services will be held Monday, August 12, 10 a.m., at MacKay Lake Hills Memorial Park, 10055 South State Street, Sandy. Funeral directors, MacKay Deseret Mortuary.
