Funeral services for Mrs. Irene Vaden Gentry, age 80, of Maggart Road, Elmwood, were held Tuesday afternoon, February 25, 1997 at the Carthage Chapel of Bass Funeral Homes conducted by Bro. David Norris. Interment was at the Dickens Cemetery in the Maggart community.
Mrs. Gentry died Sunday, February 23, 1997 at Carthage General Hospital.
Mrs. Gentry was a native of Elmwood, the daughter of the late Alvie T. Vaden and Mamie Lee Minton Vaden. She was married in December 1932 to Virgil Pafford (Pat) Gentry who preceded her in death on October 3, 1983. She was a homemaker and a member of the Chestnut Mound Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Gentry is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James Alvie and Donna J. Gentry, of Elmwood: two granddaughters, Katherine Gourtney, of Sterling Heights, Michigan, and Linda Gentry, of Chicago, Illinois; two great-grandchildren; sister, Carrie Lee Vaden, of Franklin.
