Obituary from the Shreveport Times newspaper, Nov. 20, 1970, Friday, p. 13-A:

Funeral services for Dallas W. Greene Sr., father of Shreveport Fire Chief Dallas Greene, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. W. T. Furr, pastor of the Queensborough Baptist Church, and Dr. Ira Peak, pastor of the Lakeshore Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, and members of his Sunday School class at the Queensborough Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Greene, 74, 3115 W. Caperton, died at 4:05 p.m. Thursday in Willis-Knighton Hospital after a long illness.

A native of Arcadia, he had lived in Shreveport for 55 years and was a retired plumber.

Survivors, in addition to his son, Dallas, include his widow, Mrs. Eunice Lester Greene, two other sons, Bobby L. Greene and William E. Greene, both of Shreveport; a daughter, Mrs. Roy Dale Evans of Bryan, Tex.; four sisters, Mrs. Annie Land, Lorraine, Tex., Mrs. Addie Crosby, Silverton, Colo., and Mrs. Hattie Dance and Mrs. Frances Payne, both of Minden; a brother, Grady Greene, Tallulah, and eight grandchildren.
