She married Wendell Benson Allen Sept. 1, 1949, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They made their home in Idaho Falls, where she was a homemaker and mother. She also taught school briefly and gave voice lessons from her home for many years. She was a vocalist in many of the area summer musicals, including "Promised Valley" and "Music Man."
She was active in the Idaho Falls Music Club and was named Idaho Falls Woman of the Year. She had a special talent as a vocalist, which she shared with many throughout the community.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in various callings over the years, including Young Women's and Relief Society. She loved music, voice, and piano; she enjoyed sewing and had made her own wedding gown.
Survivors include her husband, Ben Allen of Idaho Falls; children, Larraine (Jon) Rowberry of Sandy, Utah, Kenneth B. Allen of Idaho Falls, Wendy (Gary) McNee of Firth, Annalee Allen of Emerald Hills, Calif., Jon Robert (Nina) Allen of Rosamond, Calif., Julie Kaye (Tim) Hopkins of American Fork, Utah, Gordon Bischoff of Kanab, Utah, Genevieve Wise of Layton, Utah; and 12 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, David Thomas Allen, and a brother, Keith Bischoff.
