John Quarles Watkins was the son of Judith Evaline Watkins Watkins and John E. Watkins of Ampthill. He married Louisa Ann Conwell in Missouri 09 June 1859. They had 4 children, Judith "VC", John Quincy, Robertine Lela, and Louisa A "Lulu" Watkins. John was a banker in Kansas City MO. According to his mother's notes in her bible "John was educated in Richmond", and also noted that "he had a full head of hair".
