Wife of Elias Pratt
Emma Wade Blanchard was born 19 Feb 1834 in Summerhill, Cayuga, New York, the eldest daughter of Charles W Blanchard (1808-1846) and Phoebe Sherman Blanchard(1810-1895).
Her siblings included an older brother, Reuben Sherman Blanchard(1831-1898), a younger brother, Charles Orlando Blanchard (1836-1920), and two younger sisters; Helen M Blanchard (1837-1913) and Phoebe Jane Blanchard (1840-1850).
After Emma's father died in 1846, her mother married in 1847 Morgan Wheeler(1810-1860). In the 1850 US Census, the Wheeler family with the Blanchard kids is living in Solon, Cortland, New York.
The family moved to Minnesota by 1859 where their daughters were born: Minnie May (1859-1904) and Ellen Minetta (1859-1915) in Princeton, Mille Lacs/Benton; Emma Blanche (1863-1900) and Serena (1875-1940) in Anoka.
On Sept. 18, 1851, Emma married Elias Conklin Pratt (1833-1898). Their sons, Pascal Fitz (1852-1939) and Fred Elias (1855-1946) were born in Groton City, Tompkins, New York. The family was living in Princeton, Benton/Mille Lacs, MN according to the 1860 US Census where Elias was working as a land agent. By 1870 they had moved to Anoka, where he was working as an insurance agent, and his widowed mother, Esther Conklin Pratt (1792-1872), was living with them.
By the 1880 census, the family had moved to Medford, Reno, Kansas where Elias was farming; and by 1895 they were living in Topeka Ward 1, Shawnee, Kansas, where Elias died in 1898. In 1900 Emma, now a widow, is living with her daughter, Serena, in Topeka. In 1905, Emma is living in Topeka with Serena, now married to Kittredge Cram Bean (1871-1955), and their children.

Mrs. Emma Pratt, Widow of E. Pratt, Died at Diamond Saturday.
Mrs. Emma Pratt, widow of E. Pratt, years ago a Carthage merchant, died Saturday at the home of her daughter Mrs. Tedford at Diamond. She was 67 years old and had been in poor health for several years.
The funeral was held here yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock in the First Baptist Church, Dr. J. F. Kemper officiating. The pall bearers were: C. B. Stickney, J. J. Wells, D. J. Bliss, R. T. Stickney, R. A. Mooneyham and Henry Hout.
Mrs. Fred Knell and her sister, Miss Edna Stone, are grand-daughters of the deceased. No other relatives reside here. Owing to illness, Mrs. Tedford [Ellen], a sister from Diamond, and a daughter, Mrs. Beam of Topeka, could not be present at the funeral. A son, Fred Pratt of Kansas City, was here for the funeral.
