Mr. Beagles started his railroad engineering career in 1918 at Pocatello, serving until 1962 when he retired.
He was born May 23, 1896, at Laddonia, Mo., the son of Noah and Bessie Price Beagles. He spent his early life in Missouri until the family moved west in the early 1900s.
He lived in Missoula, Mont., and Seattle, Wash. before moving with his family to Clark County near Camas Creek in 1913 where the family operated a dry farm.
Just after starting with the railroad in 1918, joined the US Marines and served during World War I. He rejoined Union Pacific upon his discharge.
Mr. Beagles married Mildred Allen at Dubois on March 22, 1924. They lived at Dubois until 1936 when they moved to Idaho Falls where they had lived since.
He was a member of American Legion Post 28 at Dubois.
He is survived by his widow of Idaho Falls; one son, John A. Beagles of San Diego, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. John L. (Wilma) Bloodworth of Portland, Ore.; one brother, John C. Beagles of Coupeville, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. Richard (Floy) Nelson of Bellevue, Wash., Mrs. Seth (Marjorie) Jacoby of Dubois and Mrs. N. W. (Marion) Savage of Hamer; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
