William Arthur Calloway, 81, of Springwood Rest Home died Thursday following a sudden attack.

He was born in Floyd County on May 10, 1890, son of the late W. J. and Alice Climer Calloway. He was a retired employee of the West Point Pepperell Mfg. Co. and a member of the Harmony Primitive Baptist Church in Gordon County.

Surviving are one son, Felton Calloway of Rome; one brother, Porter Calloway of Rome; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Gribble of Aragon, Mrs. D. S. Conaway of Spring Garden, Ala., Mrs. Mark Thomas of Winter Haven, Fla. And Mrs. James C. Fain of Gadsden, Ala.; one grandchild, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 4 p.m. in the Lindale First Baptist Church with the Revs. G. Jason Davis and E. S. Morris officiating. Interment will be in East View Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. At other hours they will be at the residence of a granddaughter, Mrs. Joyce Ann Farrer, of Silver Creek Rte. 1. The body will lie in state one hour before service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Henry Gribble, Stanley Conaway, Charles Callaway, Bobby Fain, Howard Calloway, Mark Thomas Jr., Jerry Lee, Hubbard Gribble, and Larry Abney. Henderson-Frazier Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
