Daughter of Alois and Marie (Blecha) Potmesil. On Sept. 3, 1937, she was married to J. B. Weems at Driggs, Idaho. They farmed at Newman Grove before operating a service station and restaurant in Aurora from 1950-58. They moved to York in 1960 where Mary worked as a cook at York College for many years and sold Rawleigh Products for over 25 years.
Mary was a member of the East Avenue United Methodist Church and had been a member of Evening Star Rebekah Lodge #55, York Hospital Auxiliary, United Methodist Women, Hope Circle and Navy Mothers.
Survivors include her son, Marvin and his wife Barbara Weems of Atlanta, Texas, and her daughter, Dr. Marilyn Wells of Denver, Colo. Also surviving are six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother John and his wife Thelma Potmesil of Newman Grove; and her sister Rosie McLeod of Worthington, Minn.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, sister Bessie and half-brother Bohemial Blecha.
