James was a member of the John Marshall High School Corps of Cadets C co class of 1922 Richmond Va

Son of Dr.James N.Hillman,of Sandston,Virginia.Killed in the crash of a twin-motor pursuit plane near Long Beach,California.
He was attached to the Fourth Ferrying Group of Air Transport Command with headquarters at Memphis,Tenn,and had just delivered a plane to California.
Husband of the former Miss Elizabeth Brown,of Centralia,Mo.,and father of Linda Lo Hillman.Brother of Lieut.Frank P.Hillman of the United States Navy,Pauline,(John E.Allen) of Wilimington,Delware and Sgt.Shelton Burns Hillman of the United States Army.
His father Dr.Hillman was president at Emory and Henry University for 20 years.
Buried with full military rites.
