Kimiyo Hisatake went very peacefully to start her new journey at the home of her daughter in Salt Lake City on December 8, 2003.

Born January 5, 1902 in Kukaian, Hawaii to Kisaku and Teru Tanaka. She lived in Hawaii until 1993 when she moved to Utah. Married Itsuo Hisatake in 1917, they were married for 60 years. She assisted her husband as a Japanese Language school teacher for 25 years. Kimiyo was very active in community affairs, and was well known for her culinary skills. In all of her life her children never heard her speak ill of anyone, she truly lived the "Golden Rule".

Kimiyo is survived by her sons: Tatsumi "Brown" (Chidori) Hisatake of Aira, Hawaii; Russ (Johanna) Hisatake of Draper, Utah; daughters: Elsie (Frank) Prosser of Salt Lake City; Clara (Peter) Kahikina of Naalehu, Hawaii; Thelma Hisatake of Salt Lake City; Evelyn (Reid) Nunley of Grantsville, Utah; sister: Gertrude (Frank) Morihara of Highland, CA; 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grand-children, 23 great- great-grand-children. Preceded in death by her husband, sons: Robert, Arthur, and Kenneth; brothers: Harry, Herbert; sisters: Elsie and Marge.

Memorial services will be held Saturday Dec. 13, 2003 at 10:00 a.m., at the Salt Lake Buddist Temple 211 W. 100 So.; Salt Lake City, Utah. Directors, Garner Funeral Home.
