He was given the name for his mothers family name. He had black slightly wavy hair and hazel eyes. He was about 5 foot 10 inches tall.
He had lost all his fingers on one hand in a farm accident but it did not hamper his mechanic ability, or in any other way deter him from what he wanted to do.
After he moved to Oakland, California in early 1940's he began mechanic work and eventually had his own garage.
He loved to tease but did it in such a way that you were never sure if he was joking or not.

Services for Martin Parks, 75, San Leandro, CA were held at the Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward CA August 5, 11 A.M. with the Rev. Harold Thomas, pastor of Grace Baptist Church officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Bill Parks Fresno, CA.
Burial was in Chapel of Chimes Cemetery.

He was born in Goforth, TX on March 11 1911 and moved to Dickens County as a small child, living most of his life near Spur.
He married Loretta Sparks and in 1937 moved to CA where he operated his own business until he retired.

Survivors include his wife Loretta; one son Jerome Parks, Hayward CA; two sisters Beryl Harris, Kansas City, Kansas and Bernice Jackson, Patterson, CA and Gordon Parks, Dell City, TX, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
