Joseph was the son of John and Anna Pitcavage. He had one sister, Margaret Pitcavage Bubnis and the family came from Lithuania to Shenandoah, PA. Joseph's parents and sister remained in Shenandoah their entire lives. Joseph moved to Detroit circa 1919 and was employed by the Ford Motor Company, he also made violins. He passed away in the Delray Industrial Hospital of chronic valvular heart disease. He never married and at the time of his death he was residing at 8860 Falcon Avenue in Detroit. His two nephews, John "Nanny" and Joseph "Nippy" Bubnis came from PA to arrange the burial. He was buried in this cemetery on September 16, 1949. Martenson Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
