Robert Walsh son of John and Sarah Walsh was born near Athlone, West Meath county Ireland, Dec. 5th, 1848. He came to America at the age of 18 years and located in Logan, IL. He was strong and energetic and while working in the harvest field in June 1871, he suffered a sun stroke and was never the same afterward.
He died in Kankakee of dropsy and heart disease, on the first day of May.
He leaves to mourn his loss, two brothers John and Edward of Rantoul and one sister Mrs. Lizzie Murphy of Osceola, Iowa, besides a number of other relatives.
As a boy he was very devoted to his mother and was always kind and obedient to his parents, as a man he was cheerful and pleasant. His enemies were few, his friends were many. He has gone from us, missed, but not forgotten, for he still lives in the memory of those that knew him.
