Aunt Geneva (my mama Theresa's older sister) was eighth born of twelve children to Deacon Chapman William and Mary Jane Frazier-Rhodes. Aunt Gen' truly was a woman of few words; yet, she was a strong and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She served as the matriarch of her family and was a tireless homemaker who made everyone around her feel comfortable and welcome. Her home served as a magnet and central meeting place that drew and kept her family together. She made all her children feel like they were special and she made her sons and daughters-in-law feel as if they were her own.
On December 19, 1937 (my mama's 14th birthday), she entered into Holy Matrimony with the late George Turner, Sr., and to them were born thirteen children.
