Amanda "Mandy" James Rutledge Tingle was born 1 June 1842 in Scott County, Kentucky. She married Thomas F. Rutledge in 18 March 1859. They were the parents of six children: Elizabeth Alice (1859-1860), Franklin Lafaet (1861-1938), Mary Liza (1862-1863), Thomas (1865-1865), Samuel Harrison (1866-1938) and Charles Edgar Rutledge (1870-1935). Mandy's husband, Thomas Rutledge, died in 1875 in Kentucky. She later married James H. Tingle in 1878. James and Mandy had two children: James (1878-?)and George Scott Tingle 1880-1954. Mandy died on 9 November 1904 in Scott County, Kentucky. She is buried at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. Her second husband, James H. Tingle is buried in the Georgetown Cemetery, Georgetown, KY.
