Charles "Chuck" Reed, 82, was born in Grayson County, TX, to Clyde Reed and Mamie Lou Nichols Reed. Survived by his wife, Nell Reed; one son, Charles E. Reed of Sulphur Springs, TX; one daughter Julia McCoy and son-in-law Patrick McCoy of Naples, FL; one brother, Troy Reed of Paris, KY, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Chuck served his country in the Navy during World War II, settling in San Diego after being honorably discharged. Chuck began his career working for Henry and Jesse Boney at Boney's Market. Over the years, Chuck enjoyed a successful career with Southland Corporation. He loved his golf and served as chairman for many MDA charity golf tournaments, sponsored by Southland, where he retired in 1992 with over 40 years of service. Chuck's main loves were the Lord, his wife Nell and family. Chuck served as a deacon, Sunday school superintendent, head usher, and many other service capacities over the years at Del Cerro Baptist Church. Interment will be at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.
