Frank Jones Burnett was born in Pekin, Illinois December 14, 1873; the son of Clara McGraw and Benjamin Franklin Burnett. He went with his parents to Fort Collins, Colorado in 1879. The elder Mr. Burnett, a Civil War veteran, went to the Colorado city to establish a general store, and young Frank was taken out of high school to work in the store. On a visit to California in 1942, Mr. Burnett took a job with an aircraft factory and remained until the end of the war.

Although retired for a number of years, he remained active and in 1965, published a book "Golden Memories of Colorado," most of which was written at his summer home, "Laugh-a-Cottage" on the Cache Poudre River. He visited Douglas frequently and had many friends here. He expressed a wish that he be buried in Douglas Park Cemetery.

Mr. Burnett is survived by two sons, Benjamin F. of Douglas; Raymond C., Fort Collins; a daughter, Ruth McDonald, Denver; two sisters, Zoa Offerman and Pearl McFarlane, Chula Vista, California.
