Greenfield Rites For Mrs. Portman
Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Gray Noxon Portman, 81, a native Syracusan, who died last Friday in Greenfield, Mass., were conducted at St. James Episcopal Church in that city.
Burial was in South Cemetery, Leyden, Mass.
An 1898 graduate of Syracuse University, Mrs. Portman moved to Greenfield following her marriage in 1905. Last year she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Edward Canedy of Bernardston, Mass.
Mrs. Portman was the daughter of the late Justice James Noxon and granddaughter of the late B. Davis Noxon, former member of the State Supreme Court.
Surviving, besides Mrs. Canedy, are another daughter, Mrs. Clifford J. Taylor of Groveton, N. H.; a sister, Mrs. Leslie A. Nichols of Yakima, Wash.; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
