Alfreda "Freda" (Doraz) Bennett, 92, died suddenly Saturday, September 19, 2009, in Morton Hospital in Taunton. Born in North Dighton, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Mary (Ezyk) Doraz.
Mrs. Bennett was educated in the Dighton Public Schools and was a former member of St Andrew's Parish in Taunton. A well known and very well liked self-employed hairdresser, she owned her own beauty shop in the Taylor Building in Taunton for more than fifty years, servicing the hairdressing needs of countless women in the Taunton area. She enjoyed her flower gardens and traveling especially to California.
Mrs. Bennett was the mother of Karolyn Costa-Connell of Taunton and the grandmother of Aaron Costa of Taunton. She was also the sister of Helen Leonard of Somerset, Walter Doraz of Attleboro, and the late Janice Corr of Dighton; as well as the aunt of several. She was the former wife of the late Jefferson Bennett. Freda will be loved and sadly missed by her daughter and grandson.
