She was born December 19, 1947 in American Fork, Utah to Phil Proctor Hoggard and Bernice Monson and was the eldest of five children. She grew up in Renton, Washington, a time in her life she held dear.
Carolyn served in the Indiana Michigan LDS Mission in 1969. She earned a bachelor's degree in education at BYU then taught in Brownsville, Texas and East Carbon, Utah, where she met her husband, Joseph Jed McKean. They were married in August of 1977 in the Provo Temple, and had one child, Annette McKean Pennycuff.
Carolyn spent her life devoted to her family, always putting others first. She has an incredibly sweet spirit, full of thoughtfulness and love.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church, 3599 South Orchard Drive, Bountiful, UT, where friends may call Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Utah State Veteran's Cemetery, 17111 South Camp Williams Road Bluffdale, Utah.
