The daughter of Ira and Hazel (Dallmeyer) Jones, she was born August 21, 1922 at rural Columbus Junction. On May 2, 1945 she married Max Gipple at Topeka, Kansas; he died November 18, 2008.
She was a graduate of the Columbus Junction High School. She worked at the Rock Island Arsenal during W.W. II. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Spring Run United Methodist Church and the U.M.W.; she was a member of the Shellbark Club.
Survivors include: two daughters; Elaine Gipple of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Patricia Peay of Readyville, Tennessee; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son and one sister.
The family met with friends on Tuesday from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. at the Columbus City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Spring Run United Methodist Church.
