Obituary:
JOE DODSON, 70, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2004. Devoted husband, father and grandfather, he leaves behind many friends and family to cherish his memory. A proud native Texan, Joe was born on July 5, 1934 in San Benito, Texas to J. D. and Lena Burroughs Dodson. He moved to Houston in his youth, attended Allen Academy in Bryan, Texas and was graduated from Reagan High School in 1954. He served proudly in the U. S. Navy aboard the submarine USS Didon. Joe graduated from The University of Houston where he was in the Cavalier Fraternity and the charter chapter of Sigma Nu, Pin # 11, and was a lifelong U of H Cougar Football Fan. After graduation he was in HVAC Commercial Sales and was a member of Houston ASHRAE and the Air-Conditioning Council of Houston. In 1997, He and his wife Jan became owners of RDA Pro-Mart, a professional beauty supply company in Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lena & J. D. Dodson, and is survived by his wife of 45 years, Jan Dodson; daughter, Carol Andrews and son-in-law Christopher Andrews; son, Joseph Gregory (Greg) Dodson; granddaughters, Jessica Whited, Jenna Andrews & Emily Andrews; and many other nieces and nephews and extended family members. He was a member of the Masonic Order and Lifelong member of the NRA. He enjoyed the company of many friends especially the "Wednesday Lunch Bunch". Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2004 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Memorial Oaks Funeral Home.
