Tom Harry, 84, of Cape Cod, Mass., passed away Aug. 25, 2006, at Harbor Side Nursing Home.
He was born May 23, 1922, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Maude and James Harry. Tom served in World War II in the Army Air Force for four years in the South Pacific as a control tower operator. He was employed at the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for 30 years, becoming an executive in the Truck Tire Sales Division. He left Goodyear to become vice president of Brad Ragen Inc., Goodyear's largest tire dealer. Later, Tom owned and operated three Goodyear Tire stores in Fort Myers, Fla. Upon his retirement, Tom returned to his home in New Seabury, Mass., where he was a charter member of the New Seabury Country Club. Tom spent many active years in Westboro, Mass., during the '50s and '60s, where he loved to golf and fish. He owned his own plane and became a pilot in 1960. He enjoyed international travel and visited many countries all over the world. He will be remembered for his generous spirit and fun-loving nature.
Tom is survived by his wife of 55 years, Faye Kesselring Harry; sons, Tom Jr. and Tim; daughter-in-law, Karen; his two grandchildren, Chelsea of Hawaii and Ryan of Los Angeles, were the light of his life. Tom also leaves his brother, James B. Harry of Akron, and many nieces and nephews who will always have fond memories of their wonderful uncle.
