ST. GEORGE — Edward Ray Carter, 80, passed away on Sunday. He was born March 23, 1931 in Spanish Fork.

Ray is preceded in death by his father, Reed; his mother, Severena; and his brother, Ronnie.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; seven children: Michael (Camille), Bart (Kellie), Gregory (Carrie), Roger (Stephanie), Raylene (Jeff) Long, Dallan (Deborah), and Sheralyn (Todd) Hopkinson; 22 grandchildren; 10 great­grandchildren; and three sisters: Norma, Alta and Connie.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Riverside LDS Ward Chapel, 2434 East Riverside Drive, St. George.

Friends may call at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd in St. George Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and at the Chapel Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to services.

Interment will be at the Washington City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, 673-4221.
