Marion Whaley was the son of John and Nancy Ownby Whaley. He married Addie Ogle and they resided in Pigeon Forge (Sevier County) Tennessee. Marion died at age 82 at the East Tennessee Baptist Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by wife, Addie. Survived by daughters, Mrs. Clon Ownby and Mrs. Winfred Trotter of Pigeon Forge and Mrs. Lee Proffitt of Washington; sons, Carl P and Minus Whaley; 17 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; two brothers, Tillery and Calvin Whaley; sisters, Mrs. Richard Eslinger and Mrs. Harrison Proffitt.
