Harriett was born February 28, 1847, in Scroon Lake, Essex County, New York, daughter of Henry Ackerman and Clarinda Brown. She died April 18, 1925, aged 78 years, 1 month and 20 days, and is buried beside her husband in Nora Cemetery. Her gravestone is inscribed "His Wife Hattie 1847 - 1925." On March 10, 1865, Harriet was united in marriage to Miles Schoolcraft, at Fond Du Lac, Fond du Lac Co., Wis. Harriett was related in some manner to Joel R. Ackerman, born July 28, 1837, in Schron, Essex Co., New York. Joel was a Civil War veteran, having served in Company E of the 17th Wisconsin Infantry. He died June 13, 1917, at Horseman, Barron Co., Wis., and was buried there in Cedar Lake Cemetery.
