Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. last Fri. at Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church for Virgil Milby who died Wed., Nov. 24 at the home of his son, James W. Milby in the Pleasant Valley community, at the age of 83. Rev. T.A. Richardson was in charge of services, assisted by Rev. V.A. Jones. Burial was in the Wilson Cemetery. The son of the late Elam Milby and Mrs. Nancy Allen Cantrell Milby, he was born in Green Co. June 3, 1871. He was a member of the Oak Forest Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He was united in marriage to Miss Margaret Lou Ann Noe 62 years ago. She preceded him in death Oct. 29, 1946. To this union, 7 daughters and 3 sons, were born. Surviving are 7 daughters, Mrs. Alice Milby, Mrs. Jessie Underwood, Mrs. Iva Perkins, all of Green Co.; Mrs. Mattie Halcomb, of Taylor Co., Mrs. Fannie Elmore of Tiskilwa, IL; Mrs. Cora Crain of Petersburg, IL; 1 son, James W. Milby of Green Co.; 2 brothers, Ben Milby of Greensburg, and Ulis Milby of Green Co.; 4 sisters, Mrs. Sarah Estes, Mrs. Martha McCubbin, Mrs. Lissie Bloyd, Mrs. Emma Bale, all of Green Co.; 48 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Virgil Milby, James Lee Milby Eugene Underwood, Luchion Milby, Clell Milby and Thurman Milby. - supplied by Francie Ede
