Leroy was the son of William and Rose Hedges Taylor. He married Arvilla Mae Holman, 5 Nov 1933. They had three children:

Leroy Taylor Laid To Rest At Spring Hill

Funeral services for Mr. Leroy "Jack" Taylor were conducted at two o'clock Friday afternoon, August 18, 1950 at the Spring Hill church by Rev. A. E. Kretzer. Mr. Taylor died August 15 at the Barnes hospital in St. Louis, Mo. where he had been taken from the Vandalia hospital on July 26. After examination and observation, he was found to be suffering from acute uremic poisoning.

The Misses Barbara Ann Nance and Wanda Busby sang, "No Night There" and "Beyond the Sunset". They were accompanied at the piano by Kathryn Cook.

Six brothers of the deceased carried the casket. They were: Noah, Thurman, Ray, Glen, Paul and Charles Taylor.

Lorra Peterson assisted by five sister-in-laws, Nellie, Dorothy, Marie, Elvira and Deloris Taylor in carrying the beautiful floral offerings.

Leroy Taylor was born August 13, 1911, in Fayette County, the son of Wm. and Pearl Taylor, and departed this life on August 15, 1950 at the age of 39 years and 2 days.

One November 5, 1933, he was united marriage to Arvilla Mae Holman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julian Holman. To this union three children were born, namely: Carl Ray, 15; Robert William, 11, and Donald Earl, 7.

Besides his parents, wife and children, he leaves a sister, Mrs. Bonnie Hunter of Pana; six brothers, Noah and Thurman of Pana; Glen of Granville; Ray and Paul of Brownstown, and Charles of Magnolia, Arkansas.

He also leaves one neice, eleven nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Among those from a distance in attendance at the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. John Hedges, Joliet; Mr. Willard Durbin, Patty Thornton, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Peterson, Donald, Jimmy and Arthur Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. William Peterson, Earl Pryer and Sally Yarnell of Decatur; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Askins and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Clutter, Assumption.
