Lars Larsson, son of Lars Larsson (1798-1840) and Anna Olasdotter (1800-1882), was born in Färlöv parish, Kristianstads lan, Sweden, 14 July 1832, and was baptized 16 July 1832. He received training as a blacksmith. On 2 May 1854, as Lars Larsson Linderoth, he was issued a passport to emigrate to North America. He arrived at the port of Boston, Massachusetts aboard the ship Levi Woodbury on 22 July 1854. On 28 October 1855 in Pine Valley, Washington County, Minnesota, he married Miss Fredrica Larson.
Duluth Evening Herald, 24 June 1898, page 6: Lars Lenroot Dead. "Lars Lenroot, of Superior, one of the oldest citizens at the head of the lakes, died last evening at 7 o'clock at Superior, at his home on Second street and L avenue. The immediate cause of his death was heart disease. In the death of Mr. Lenroot Superior lose[s] one of her oldest settlers and a most substantial citizen. He came to the settlement at the head of the lake in the '50s and has been for years one of her most prominent citizens of Superior. Mr. Lenroot was well known in Duluth. The funeral will take place tomorrow, at 2:30 p.m., from the residence."
