Casket burial. Buried in Oak Mound Cemetery on 6 May 2004.

Grew up in Kragnes, MN and attended Oak Mound School. He was an active member of the Oak Mound Congregational Church where he served as a deacon and the Oak Mound Cemetery Association where he served as Mowing Chairman. He lived in his parents' home in Kragnes. U.S. Air Force in WWII.

Alvern Olson, 85, the Fairmont, Moorhead, MN, died on Monday, May 3, 2004, in S.C.C.I. Hospital, Fargo, ND.

Alvern Olson was born on July 3, 1918, in Moorhead, MN, to Alvin and Theodora (Olness) Olson. He grew up and attended rural school at Kragnes, MN, and graduated from Moorhead High School. Alvern joined the U.S. Air Force in 1942, served in WWII and retired in 1964 from the service after twenty two years as a propeller mechanic.

He returned to Kragnes and worked at the Kragnes Farmer's Elevator, and took care of his mother following his father's death. He moved to the Fairmont in Moorhead in 1997.

Alvern Olson, 85, the Fairmont, Moorhead, died Monday, May 3, 2004, in SCCI Hospital, Fargo.

Mr. Olson was born July 3, 1918, in Moorhead. He grew up and attended school in Kragnes, Minn. He graduated from high school in Moorhead. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1942, serving during World War II. He retired from the Air Force in 1964 after working 22 years as a propeller mechanic. He returned to Kragnes, where he worked for Kragnes Farmer's Elevator. He entered the nursing home in 1997.

He is survived by a brother, Milton (Jean) Olson, Spokane, Wash.; and a sister, Ethel Boyd, Mooresville, N.C.

Visitation: Thursday from 1 to 2 in Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead.

Funeral: Thursday at 2 in the funeral home.

Burial: Oak Mound Cemetery, Kragnes.
