Her father served in some capacity in the Revolutionary War, He applied for a pension 11 Oct 1834, 2 months before he died while living with his son Henry in Union Co, KY. It was denied for failure to furnish proof of 6mo service in an organized military corps. His character references included Nathaniel C. Hoyd and George Givens.
Elizabeth was married 19 Nov 1818 in Livingston Co, KY to Joseph R Given, s/o John Gasper Given & Mary Reed.
Elizabeth and Joe were the parents of:
~Rev James Fowler Given (1825-1867), h/o Charlotte A M Geren. He died in OH (FAG 14511215)
Joseph R Given died on 3 Oct 1832 of cholera.
Elizabeth Holt Given died of consumption when her son James was seven years old, leaving him an orphan. Her brother Dr. Peter C. Holt raised him until he was 18, when he left for Marietta OH for college and later married and became a Methodist Episcopal minister.
