Obituary
Harvey E. Hanson

Harvey Edward Hanson was born to Edvardt and Lottie (Rudesill) Hanson on August 26, 1896 on the Uncle Charlie Hanson farm in River Falls Township.

At the age of six months, he moved with his parents to the farm that his grandfather had homesteaded at Viking, Wis. It was on this farm that he spent his entire life.

In September, 1918, at the age of 22, Harvey entered the armed forces and the following two years were dedicated to the service of his country. Upon his return home after being discharged from the army, he worked as an auto mechanic in Baldwin.

On April 18, 1922, Harvey was united in marriage to Lulu Kemisrud. God blessed this union with three sons, Harland of Minneapolis, Lorne of Baldwin, and Ivan at home.

Although Harvey was not affiliated with any church, he led a very Christian life. He loved peace and harmony, and was never known to say an unkind word about anyone. His whole life was centered around his home and family.

On December 15th he suffered a massive coronary and was taken to the Baldwin Hospital where he passed away December 16, 1965.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Lulu.

Besides his three sons, he leaves to mourn 14 grandchildren, one sister, Ella, Mrs. Melvin Barsness of Oklee, Minn., five nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.

The funeral service was officiated by Rev. Ronald Leslie at the Geving and Keehr Chapel in Spring Valley on December 20, 1965, with interment at the Greenwood Cemetery at River Falls, Wis.

Pallbearers were: C. Edward Hanson, John L. Hanson, Kent Rudesill, Jack Lavelle, Glenn Hovde and John Affolter.
