Mrs. Josephine Rasmussen, 48, wife of Anders Rasmussen, who was ill of heart trouble for the past seven months, died yesterday morning at the family home, 1108 Vincennes street. Her death removes one of the most charitable women of the city and is an irreparable loss to the hundreds of needy persons she has befriended. She was born and reared in New Albany and her friends were numbered by her acquaintances. A member of the Hutchinson Presbyterian church, the Woman's Club, the Fortnightly Club and Coterie, she was greatly beloved by those organizations as well as the board of directors of the Cornelia Memorial Orphans' Home, where she rendered such efficient service. Her husband and one son, John Rasmussen, a student at the Illinois University at Champaign, Ill., survive. Also her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Cadwallader, of New Albany, and one sister, Mrs. Earl S. Gwin, of Louisville. - New Albany Daily Ledger 22 Oct 1918
