Thomas was married to Mary Nemec. Mary was born on 15 April 1853 in Bohemia, daughter of Vaclav Nemec. She came to the United States in 1867.
Thomas and Mary have not been located in 1870 or 1880 censuses.
In 1900, the couple and five children- Henry, George, William, Charles, and Josephine- lived at 203 Vine Street in Traverse City. He was a cigar maker and the four oldest children were attending school.
On 16 April 1910, the couple and three children- William, Charles, and Josephine- at 203 Vine Street. He was working as a cigar maker. Son William was a laborer in the chair factory and Charles was a stenographer in the railroad office.
Mary died on 18 August 1916 carcinoma of the stomach.
On 10 January 1920, Thomas lived at 128 N. Elsworth Avenue in Traverse City in the household of his daughter Carrie (Fitch)Herkner and her family, as well as his son William Fitch.
Thomas died on 3 September 1922.
Thomas and Mary were buried in Oakwood Cemetery.
