Mr. Fields retired from City Machine Tool & Die Company in 1971. His wife, Carrie Fields, died in March of 1971.
Surviving are one son, James E. Fields, Selma; two brothrers, Clesent O. Fields, Muncie, and Chester M. Fields, Glendale, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Kingery, Muncie, and Mrs. Opal McDowell, Muncie; four grandchildren, Stephen Fields, Muncie, Michael Fields, U.S. Navy in Orlando, Fla., Cynthia Fields, Muncie, and Julie Fields, Selma.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Meeks Mortuary with Rev. K. Edwards Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
Friends may call at the mortuary from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday and anytime prior to the services on Saturday.
The family requests that memorials be sent to the Little Red Door.
