Beloved by his family, Paul E. Alvord, age 85, passed away April 6, 2003. He was born June 1, 1917, in North Ogden, Utah, to George Ivan Alvord and Sarah Luella Campbell. Paul married Arlene Skeen on November 24, 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and was blessed with three children. He raised his family on a dairy farm where he taught them the importance of responsibility and hard work. Paul was a veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force in Europe and Russia during World War II and later for the Federal Government at Hill AFB, also serving in Vietnam. On Okinawa, he served as the head of Logistics in the 313th Air Division, and later at Robins AFB, Georgia. He blessed his family with a love of the outdoors where they spent many vacations camping, fishing, boating, hunting and snowmobiling. His family will fondly remember the endless trips to Yellowstone. Paul served in many positions in the LDS Church including Bishop of the Warner Robins Ward in the Macon Georgia Stake.

Survived by his spouse Arlene Alvord, three children; Karen Hill Allred (Gary), Scott Alvord (Jackie), and Ross Alvord (Shelley); nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and his brother Ray Alvord (Bonnie). Paul was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Lloyd, Vern, and Carl.

The family wishes to extend their deep gratitude to Sandy Regional Care Center for the loving care they provided during the past 16 months.

Funeral services will be held 11a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2003 at Lindquist's North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd…. Interment at the North Ogden Ben Lomond Cemetery….
