After a forty two week voyage only Andrew's wife, Isabelle Frame Woods and their son, Joseph Woods, survived. Other family is buried on the Island of Antigua or at sea.
Date of Death listing is actually entry date of records found in St. Johns Church, Antigua.
The family was Scots-Irish - may have lived in Ireland but were Scottish. There is no confimed family prior to Andrew Woods who is buried in Antiqua according to the family stories written in the 1800's. The Woods story was shared orginally at Christmas in 1888 and again in the 1970's.
From family documentation three family members as well as friends have visited the Island of Antigua since the 1800's.
During the visit by family member, Col. Butler McMahon, FAG#76873622, grave locations were noted with documentation being sent by church clergy to England in 1940 following that visit.
In 1947, Maj. General Edward H.Brooks,Commanding General US Army in the Carribean, a friend of the Helen Woods Johnson family, visited St. Johns church, sending back photos of St. Johns, the churchyard as well as copies of pages of the record book showing the deaths of Andrew, Rebecca, John and Mary Woods.
