Services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. A memorial fund will be established at a later date.
Charles was born Nov. 18, 1913, in Rock Island, the son of Charles W. and Frieda Myers Barnett Sr. Charles married Wilma Fyfe Nov. 16, 1946, in Rock Island.
Charles worked as a truck driver for John Deere Plow and Planter Works, Moline, for 18 years, retiring in the 1970s.
Charles' memberships include Milan American Legion Post 569/200 and Conservation Club, Milan.
Charles enjoyed fishing, gardening and his many visits with family and friends at "The Barn." Charles loved and enjoyed being with his family and animals.
Charles was a World War II United States Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma; daughter, Kathleen Lake, Rock Island; grandchildren, Jeremy, Dana, David, Allan, Kathleen and DeAnna; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters, Marguerite Roman, Rock Island, Clara Fisher, Rock Island, Kathryn Wagner, Moline; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Barnett, Rock Island; and a niece, Beth Bryant, Davenport. Mr. Barnett was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Richard Barnett; and a brother, Joseph Barnett.
