"The Vital Records of Rehoboth" (image to left) showed four people buried by the small place of Rehoboth, in 1679. Three of the four died in one week late in August. Eldad was one. Another was a church deacon ("Decon"), who might have been circulating across the town/township, to minister to the sick.

Judging by letters of his father John Kingsley, their general region (eastish of Providence RI) suffered from starvation, with animals and grain stores destroyed in attacks, assistance by donated food slow to arrive. If some sickness then came through, those already weakened by starvation could easily die.

According to John's will, Eldad was to inherit, given he stayed local. Surviving siblings Enos and Freedom more or less excluded by their father, as they were distant, westward in Hampshire County's Northampton.

However, Eldad died, too, soon after John, as did John's widow. Eldad's will would have to be checked to see who inherited next.
