If some sickness then came through, those already weakened by starvation could easily die.
According to John's will, Eldad was to inherit, given he stayed local. Surviving siblings Enos and Freedom more or less excluded by their father, as they were distant, westward in Hampshire County's Northampton.
However, Eldad died, too, soon after John, as did John's widow. Eldad's will would have to be checked to see who inherited next.
