Maude was the daughter of Benjamin Franklin Dickey and Lavenia A. Jackson. She first married Preston Douthitt. They were the parents of three daughters, Ethel Mae, Fannie and Dolly. Secondly, she married Owen Troxell.

Her obituary provided by the collection of Irene Wiley reads:

Mrs. Maude Troxell
Services for Mrs. Maude Troxell, 81, widow of Owen Troxell, who died at her residence, 106 Daily Avenue, Friday night will be at the Harrod Bros. Funeral Home, Monday 10 a.m., the Rev. Herman Bowers, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery.
Stewart Barnes Jr., William L. Cunningham, William Hayden, Leon Page, Ollie Sharfe and Zane Travis will serve as bearers.

A native of Franklin County, born February 16, 1881, she was a daughter of the late Mrs. Viney Jackson Dickey and Frank Dickey. Mrs. Troxell was a member of the Thornhill Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. John Dailey of Frankfort, and Mrs. Dolly Peters of Cleveland, Ohio; one foster daughter, Mrs. Rosa Lee Hartman of Frankfort; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Page of Frankfort; seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The body is at the Harrod Brothers Home where it will remain throughout the service time.
