Mrs. Amanda Ray, 78, widow of Frank Ray, died yesterday afternoon at her home on Williams road, about two miles from this city. The family came here from Buck Valley, Pa., about 20 years ago. A daughter of the late Henry Beatty she is survived by ten children and 25 grandchildren besides a number of great grandchildren. Mrs. Ray was a member of The First Brethren Church.
The surviving children are Mrs. Melvin Bucy, Mrs. Blanche Robinette and Mrs. Mary Potts, Flintstone, Md., Fred Ray, Amaranth, Pa.; Frank and John Ray, Buck Valley, Pa.; James Ray, Artemas, Pa.; McKinley Ray, Cumberland, and Miss Delia and Elsie Ray, Cumberland.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday from the Christian Church at Buck Valley, Pa.
