He was long known as a sucessful
merchant. He acquired
wealth by great frugality
and Industry. He represented
his native town
a series of years in the
State Legislature. He was
a magistrate of the County
& in this spot, select
ed by himself, near the graves
of his kindred and
early aquaintances are
deposited his remains.
