NORTH OGDEN—Lena Wettstein Campbell, 71, of 605 E. 2600 N., North Ogden, died Sunday at her home of cancer.
She was born May 12, 1894, in Ostermondigen, Bern, Switzerland, a daughter of Daniel and Anna Pauli Wettstein. On Oct. 13, 1916, she was married to Lester H. Campbell in the Logan LDS Temple. He died Nov. 18, 1956.
Mrs. Campbell had been a member of the First Ward where she had served as a Primary and Relief Society visiting teacher for 40 years. She was an officiator in the Salt Lake Temple for 22 years and did endowment work in the Salt Lake and Logan temples for over 36 years. She had formerly been a member of the Ogden Second Ward. Mrs. Campbell had resided in various places in Utah and Idaho, moving to North Ogden 42 years ago.
Surviving are two sons and two daughters; DonL. Campbell, Ogden;Sterling Campbell, Roy; Mrs. DeVaughn H. (Euna) Kershaw, Granger; Mrs. Lloyd E. (Carma) Shaw, North Ogden; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, two sisters: Ernest Wettstein, California; Mrs. Oliver (Rosa) Boyle, Logan; Mrs. Theo (Anna) Merrill, Preston, Idaho; four step-brothers, four step-sisters: Lyman Wettstein, Ray Wettstein, both of Logan; Lewis Wettstein, Oregon; Glen Wettstein, Bountiful; Mrs. Glen (Mina) Finnlayson, Mrs. Carl (Lilly) Wahlen, Mrs. Monty (Hazel) Eschler and Mrs. Tony (Alice) Bond, all of Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the North Ogden First Ward Chapel with Bishop Blaine Kendell officiating. Friends may call at Myers Mortuary Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the chapel Wednesday from 11 a.m. to services.
Burial in the North Ogden Cemetery.
