Singer. She is remembered as one third of the Del Rubio Triplets who wore skimpy outfits while performing quirky versions of popular songs of the day. Born Mildred Stuart Boyd in Ancon, Panama Canal Zone, she was raised in Panama and in Washington, D.C. Taking their stage name from their dyed blonde hair ('rubio' is 'blonde' in Spanish), just when the sisters started performing together is unclear. Their major break came when Grammy-winning songwriter Allee Willis 'discovered' them in 1985, though their career was by then long established, with at least one documented appearance on the "Bob Hope Show" as far back as 1956. The ladies continued doing pop music in a style all their own and though in their mid 60s still wore costumes showing off their legs and cleavage, their big hit probably being a cover of Devo's "Whip It". Becoming television regulars as both singers and actress their list of credits included "Golden Girls", "Married...With Children", "Night Court", "Sliders", and "Full House". In 1988 they contributed their take on "Winter Wonderland" to the "Pee-Wee's Playhouse" Christmas Special; following the 1996 death of Eadie, Milly and Elena, who died in 2001, stopped singing. Milly lived out her days in Southern California and died of respiratory failure.
