Faye Wilcox, age 77, of Alma died early Monday morning December 20, 2010, at Twin Oaks Convalesant Center after an extended illness.

She was a native of Bacon County, daughter of the late Lindley Edwin Abercrombie and Wilma Cason Abercrombie. She was preceded in death by an infant son, four brothers, Edwin, Robert "Bob", Wherry "Dub" and Carlton "Mike" Abercrombie, three sisters, Lucille Douglas, Geneva Renfro and Bessie Hogg.

Faye worked several years with Dr. W W Sharpe, 25 years with Dr. Olin Wilson and 10 years with Dr. Jack Sheppard. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where she served as secretary and treasurer for 20 years and was a member of the Senior Center of Alma.

Survivors include her husband Dorman M. Wilcox of Alma, a son Mickey and wife Linda of Hillsville, VA, a daughter, Susie W. Medders and husband Larry of Alma, two brothers, Felton Abercrombie of Jacksonville and Oscar "Shorty" Abercrombie of Alma, two grandchildren, Mitchell Wilcox of North Augusta, SC, Summer Wilcox of Hillsville, VA, three great-grandchildren, Ethan O. Wilcox of North Augusta, SC, Alexia Lee Edden and Dakota Medders of Jacksonville.

Funeral services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Carter officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Crosby Funeral Home was in charge of all the arrangements.
